Joshua Grahlman, DPT - Physical Therapist

Dr. Joshua Grahlman, DPT, FAFS graduated from Columbia University with an orthopedic specialty. He is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association’s Sports and Orthopedic section, as well as the former chair of the Student Special Interest Group for NY State.

Josh is passionate about athletics and injury-prevention, particularly in younger athletes. He has traveled the country to take part in continuing education classes, and is currently completing a Fellowship in Applied Functional Science which involves some groundbreaking new treatment techniques. (Fewer than 1% of practicing Physical Therapists in the US can claim this distinction.) Josh is also certified in Active Release Technique and Manipulation of the spine, trunk, and pelvis.  He is a TRX suspension training specialist, and has completed local courses on the ankle, foot, and knee in the past year.

With special interest in and knowledge of endurance and overhead sports, as well as biomechanics and video analysis, Josh has treated the whole gamut of athletes—from an Olympic pentathlete and age-group winning triathletes to high school fencers and weekend warrior parents.

Already a mutli-marathoner and half-marathoner, Josh entered the competitive world of multisport in 2011. He also plays on football, softball and dodgeball teams. Josh truly understands the unique needs of both individual athletes and team players, both as a physical therapist and as an athlete himself.

In his down time, Josh is trying to master trackstanding on his fixed-gear bike and loves to enjoy the best food NYC has to offer with the love of his life. (Sometimes that includes dessert before dinner.)
