Steven Lavender

Steven Lavender, B.Pthy, B.A. Dance - Physical Therapist

Steven received his physical therapy degree from the University of Queensland, Australia. He received his Bachelor of Dance from the Queensland University of Technology Australia. Steven continued his training at The Prince Charles Hospital for five additional years rotating through all physiotherapy specialties. Steven then accepted the position of Senior in Respiratory Physiotherapy at the Wesley Hospital where he was also the Allied Health Representative of the Specialist Advisory Board for the Obese Patient. He was then selected as Team Leader of a small group of three to research, develop and implement a ground breaking pain management service for the Northern Territory of Australia. The Territory Integrated Pain Service was the result and continues to be an enormous success. The NYUMC Hospital for Joint Diseases offered Steven a position as Clinical Specialist in 2008 and he moved to the United States. He is now a proud member of the prestigious team at Equilibrium PT.

Steven currently sits on two advisory boards, The Alliance for Inclusion in the Arts and AXS Lab. Prior to his career in physical therapy Steven was a professional ballet dancer and now enjoys working with professional and amateur dancers to maximize their potential. Steven's encompassing training and experience allows him to be effective treating a wide variety of patients and conditions.
