Specialized Physical Therapy for Parkinson’s Disease

Specialized Parkinson’s Disease Rehabilitation
At Equilibrium Physical Therapy, we provide highly specialized neurologic rehabilitation for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease and atypical Parkinsonism. Our clinic is focused on helping people with PD improve mobility, balance, walking, strength, endurance, and overall confidence with movement through evidence-based and individualized treatment.
Unlike traditional orthopedic physical therapy clinics, our Parkinson’s program is specifically designed around the unique movement challenges associated with PD, including freezing of gait, balance impairments, posture changes, dual-task difficulties, mobility decline, and fall risk.
We emphasize:
- Parkinson’s-specific exercise
- High intensity gait and balance training
- Functional mobility and movement retraining
- Amplitude training: PWR! Moves
- Reactive Balance Training
- Dual-task cognitive and boxing training
- Fall prevention and fall training
- Strength and conditioning
- Wellness-focused neurologic rehabilitation
- Long-term movement optimization and independence
Why Equilibrium PT is Different
Our approach combines advanced neurologic rehabilitation with evidence-based exercise principles to help people with Parkinson’s disease move better and stay active longer!
Treatment sessions are 45 minute one-on-one sessions, with the exception of the evaluation that is 60 minutes, based on each person’s symptoms, goals, activity level, and stage of disease progression. Whether someone is newly diagnosed or managing more advanced symptoms, our goal is to create meaningful improvements that carry over into everyday life.
Exercise is one of the most important tools for managing Parkinson’s disease and maintaining independence.
