Dr. Rosenwald has years of experience treating orthopedic injuries and conditions such as joint osteoarthritis, bone fractures, ligamentous sprains, and muscle tendinopathies. She has helped patients from 11 to 98 years of age return to their goals of walking, running, or sports without pain. Additionally, she treats post-operative orthopedic such as rotator cuff repair, ACL reconstruction, spinal procedures, and joint replacements. Her specific clinical interests include treating motor impairments from neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s Disease, stroke, and spinal cord injury. She works with these patients to reduce fall risk and improve balance confidence through gait training, strengthening, stretching, and proprioceptive exercises. These can help prevent further injury and improve quality of life.
From a young age, Dr. Rosenwald was an athlete. She competitively played softball, basketball, tennis, and lacrosse during her childhood, and grew to be a four-year high school varsity tennis player who captained her team to be NJSIAA Group 1 State Finalists in 2015. She then played on the club tennis team at Ithaca College during her undergraduate and graduate school years.
Through victories and humbling losses, competition enlightened her to view sport as a means of building not only physical skills, but also mental toughness. This drives Dr. Rosenwald’s treatment approach with injured athletes, as they often identify with their athleticism, which may feel threatened during the rehabilitation process. She not only addresses the physical injury to help patients return to their prior level of play, but also touches on the mental preparedness needed to return to sport.
Combining her passion, empathy, and a competitive nature, Dr. Rosenwald validates and motivates her patients to meet their goals. She applies the biopsychosocial model for individualized care to address all physical, mental, social, and biological aspects of her patients’ symptoms. Her treatment approach is founded upon evidence-based therapeutic exercises and orthopedic manual therapy techniques. She ensures patients understand their diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment plan with thorough education, and encourages adherence to a detailed home exercise program for continued progress outside the clinic.
