Dr. Julia Freeman is a physical therapist with specialized training in neurological rehabilitation. She earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from New York University. Dr. Freeman is a board certified neurologic specialist which is an esteemed APTA board certification held by less than 2% of licensed physical therapists.
Dr. Freeman completed a prestigious Neurological Physical Therapy Residency at the VA Boston Healthcare System. There, she received advanced training in the evaluation and treatment of complex neurological conditions including vestibular disorders, concussion, parkinson’s, movement and balance disorders, multiple sclerosis, stroke, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury. Her clinical experience spans acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient neurology, allowing her to support patients across many stages of recovery.
Dr. Freeman has extensive experience working with individuals with Parkinson’s disease through both one-on-one treatment and group exercise programs. She is certified in LSVT BIG, PWR! Moves, and Rock Steady Boxing, and is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). She incorporates the latest neurological research with creative, challenging exercises while working alongside patients to achieve goals that once felt out of reach.
Outside the clinic, Julia enjoys staying active through strength training and fitness classes, exploring New York City’s restaurant scene, traveling with her partner and spending time with friends and family.
